Career Goals:
I look forward to earning a B.S in Chemistry, and a Pharm.D./ Ph.D. in my educational career. I believe the more education one acquires the more knowledge one will have to share with others. I have the confidence and faith that I will accomplish my goal to be a prestigious well educated African-Americans scientist. I plan to participate in research programs dealing with biomedical research. I experienced bioinformatics research under the supervision of Dr. Sharon Lewis during the summer of 2005. During the summer of 2006, I experienced biomedical research as a SMART scholar in the field of pharmacology and neuroscience at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. I also experienced biomedical research as a SMART Scholar in field of Biochemistry at the University of Colorado, during the summer of 2007.
After I obtain my degrees, my mission is to help alleviate the pain and diseases that many people of this world suffer from everyday, through the research of medicine. I also plan to give back to the community and inform society of the disparities that can be prevented, and how they can help themselves. I believe research is a key element to a world of learning. Further research experience will allow me to learn and experience many different aspects of the science world for an innovative variation of research that can widen my horizons. I believe an advanced education and research experience will better prepare me to achieve my mission.
