INTERNSHIPS

The number of LU STEM students who have received summer internships increased over 600 % since we began our NSF-sponsored LINC program in 2003.  

Your pathway to summer internships begins with our Preparation for Success colloquiums, where our instructors walk students through the process of connecting with these opportunities.  Our LINC scholars continue to make favorable impressions during their internships, easing the way for the next group.

We are also constantly looking for links to additional resources.  We'll post them on university bulletin boards, as well as on this site.

GRADUATE SCHOOL

We are constantly working to improve the number of STEM graduates who continue their education in STEM disciplines.  During the LINC program, we have made tremendous improvements, as indicated below.

During the four years (2000-2003) before the LU LINC program was established there were 19 LU STEM students entering advanced degree programs after graduation; nine(9) were MS/PhD programs. During the 2004-2007 period, after LINC’s inauguration, thirty five(35) LU STEM students entered advanced degree programs. Nineteen (19) are MS/PhD programs. This reflects an 84% and well over 110 % increase respectively for these categories. 

In Preparation for Success colloquiums, and through the efforts of our faculty and mentors, we constantly aim to improve our performance.
