LU & GLOBAL RESOURCES

RESOURCES

We continue to expand our list of LU and global resources that bring value to all our STEM scholars.

Langston University has a host of resources that are available to
our scholars.  This section of our site aims to make you aware of them so that you can take full advantage of all that is offered.  From financial assistance to learning tools that help our STEM scholars excel, LU has resources that make a positive difference in STEM scholars' experience.

LANGSTON UNIVERSITY RESOURCES

Visit our Village Directory for an alphabetical listing of  services by topic.  In addition to that list, below are LU resources that we encourage you to use.

LU TELECOMMUNICATIONS CENTER

The Telecommunication Center complex at LU is a new multimillion-dollar state-of-the-art versatile service facility that contains three television stations and one radio station.  Langston is one of only three universities in the state with this capability. The purpose of the center is to provide quality broadcast and non-broadcast instructional programming to serve the needs and interests of the students, faculty, and communities in the State of Oklahoma and the nation. STEM projects can be showcased throughout Oklahoma with assistance from this facility.

LU DISTANCE LEARNING NETWORK

This facility enables video information to be transmitted at least six ways: radio broadcast frequency, telephone line, coaxial cable, satellite, microwave, and fiber optics. This facility makes it possible for STEM scholars to mentor local high school students who are interested in joining LU's STEM student body.

LU RESEARCH INSTITUTE

This multimillion-dollar research complex is funded by the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Energy. The research operation has state-of-the-art research equipment with a research staff of 22. There have been over 40 post-doctoral and national and international visiting scholars from 20 foreign countries conducting research here.  Selected STEM scholars are awarded summer internships here.
